A beautiful and timeless antique Wallendorf strawflower teapot, circa 1787–1833.

This elegant teapot features a ribbed porcelain body hand-painted underglaze with the classic blue strawflower (Strohblumen in German) design. It was made by Wallendorf Porcelain, one of the oldest porcelain manufacturers in Germany, which has been in operation since 1764 in Lichte, a town in the Thuringian Highlands.

Wear commensurate with age and use. The lid is from a later version of the teapot, as it is visibly different in tone and the fit is a bit small; it also has two small chips. The teapot has significant staining to the interior. There is a repaired break on the handle, with visible white paint / glue around the repair area. A small drop of paint / glue is also present on the side of the teapot, as well as in and around the end of the spout. Additionally, the porcelain exhibits some brown speckling throughout, likely due to firing impurities from the original production process. Please review images very carefully. While in fair condition, this piece is still incredibly beautiful and rare.
