Antique Art Nouveau hand-blown crystal wine glasses with green applied decoration, circa 1900.

This exquisite set of three hand-blown crystal wine glasses, dating to around 1900, reflects the finest craftsmanship of the Art Nouveau era. Each glass features a delicate, thin-walled bowl adorned with green applied teardrop motifs—an artistic technique characteristic of high-quality Jugendstil glassware. The tall, trumpet-shaped hollow stems are made of soft green glass and have a subtle spiral-grooved texture, giving them an organic feel. Originally, these glasses were finished with gilded rims, though much of the gold has worn away with time, hinting at their age and use.

These glasses were likely produced by either Josephinenhütte or Poschinger, two renowned European glassworks of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Josephinenhütte, founded in 1842 in Silesia, was known for its innovative, Venetian-inspired glass under the leadership of Franz Pohl. Poschinger, one of Bavaria’s oldest glassmakers, specialized in fine hand-blown crystal with organic Art Nouveau forms. Both workshops were at the forefront of Jugendstil design, making these glasses an exceptional example of the era’s artistry.

A rare and beautiful find for collectors of Antique Art Nouveau glass, Jugendstil stemware, or historical European crystal.

There are a few minor chips to the base of two of the glasses - see last image.
