Extremely rare antique 'Highland Lassie' cigar box, circa 1897.
Nailed wood box for 50 cigars.
Made by John McNee & Sons, London, Ont. John McNee ran a cigar factory out of 381-383 Clarence St. from 1888-1935.
A very charming piece of early Canadian history.
This box is in fair condition. Missing its original hinges - one benefit of this is the box can be displayed with the Highland Lassie image on the outside which would have originally been on the interior (box is shown both ways in photos). Paper is warped and has a name scribbled across it. The same name is faintly scribbled on the opposite side of the lid. Please refer to pictures.
