A classic Gibsons England striped brown betty teapot, circa early-mid 20th century.

Brown Betty teapots have a rich history dating back to the 17th century in Stoke-on-Trent, England. These iconic teapots are known for their distinctive red-brown color, simple design, and excellent heat retention properties. Originally made from a local red clay called Etruria Marl, Brown Bettys gained popularity due to their ability to brew tea to perfection. Today, they remain a beloved symbol of British tea culture and craftsmanship.

Features a pastel green band and orange stripe on a red clay body with a Rockingham glaze.

Personal sized, two-cup (500mL) capacity.

Made in Stoke-on-Trent, England.

In great condition for age. Appears little used, if at all. No cracks or crazing. Very small chip on underside of spout (see last image). Tiny bit of glaze missing from the point of the lid.
