Vintage pair of large wheat sheaf sconces, circa 1960s-1970s.
Wrought iron and tole-work.
In the style of mid-century French decorative arts, reminiscent of the iconic "wheat sheaf" coffee table designed by goldsmith Robert Goossen (of Goossens) and gifted by Salvador Dali to Coco Chanel for her Paris apartment. Chanel cherished the symbolism of the ear of wheat as a representation of luck and good fortune. Dali also painted his famed Ear of Wheat for Coco Chanel in 1947.
Original wiring has been cut. Rewiring is recommended, or they can be used as candle sconces.
Some wear commensurate with age. Please see images for details.
