A striking original design by Gene Byron (1910-1987), the celebrated Canadian artist known for her distinctive brutalist and modernist works. Byron relocated to Guanajuato, Mexico, in the mid-1950s, where she created sculptural lighting, candelabras, and home furnishings that gained international recognition in the 1960s and 70s. Today, her legacy is preserved at the Casa Museo Gene Byron in Guanajuato, the beautiful 17th century silver and gold beneficiation hacienda which Gene and her husband restored, refurbished and lived in together.

This punched tin and brass-framed mirror showcases her signature craftsmanship, featuring intricate botanical motifs and scalloped detailing. A rare collector’s item - mirrors by Byron are exceptionally scarce - and stunning statement piece that embodies the artistry and legacy of Gene Byron.
