A rare Royal Copenhagen BACA fajance box designed by Nils Thorsson, circa 1960s.
This small lidded ceramic box is part of the iconic BACA fajance series, designed by Danish artist Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen / Aluminia. It features a richly textured glaze in layered grey, white, and blue — a colourway that has become one of the most sought-after patterns in the series. The surface design was created using a transfer technique developed by Thorsson, resulting in a unique finish on each piece.
Stamped on the base with the Royal Copenhagen mark, as well as shape #3266 and design #711.
In excellent overall vintage condition with one chip to the underside of the base (see last photo). This flaw is not visible when the piece is displayed and does not affect the integrity of the box.
A beautifully collectible piece of Danish modern design — perfect for use as a ring box, jewelry box, trinket holder, or simply as a striking piece of Scandinavian ceramic art.
