A rare vintage hand painted and sculpted majolica Palissy-style pottery wall plate, circa early to mid-20th century.
Made in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
Featuring a village scene complete with windmills and grazing chickens.
Impressed 'Caldas Portugal' mark on reverse.
Glazed earthenware.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with some minor age commensurate wear. There is crazing throughout and a crack on one of the holes for hanging, as pictured. There are two sets of holes to hang from so this should not affect your ability to hang the plate.
