Vintage sculptural ceramic mantle vase, circa mid-20th century.
Features a rare and unusual heavily ribbed crescent-shaped body raised on two flared rectangular feet, in a rich deep chocolate brown glossy glaze with greenish-blue undertones near the rim, resulting in an iridescent effect.
No makers mark, however, its form and glaze are reminiscent of Canadian Beauceware or even California pottery from the same era.
A great piece for styling a credenza, mantle, or open shelf.
Condition: In excellent vintage condition. One tiny chip out of foot which appears to have occurred before glazing, during production (see last image). Some minor crazing.
